Dilly Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast dissolved in 14 c warm water
  • 1 c small curd cottage cheese heated to lukewarm
  • 1 Tbsp softened butter or oleo
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp instant minced onion or fresh chopped
  • 2 tsp dill seed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 2 14 to 2 12 c flour

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients except flour
  2. Mix thoroughly not with mixer
  3. Add flour gradually
  4. Cover and let rise about 1 hour in a warm place
  5. Punch down put in greased small loaf pans or casserole dish
  6. Let rise covered 30 to 40 minutes
  7. Bake for 40 minutes at 325
  8. Recipe can be doubled but use 9 x 13-inch pan
