Dole Golden Layer Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 20 oz can Dole crushed pineapple in juice
  • 1 8 oz carton frozen whipped topping thawed
  • 1 4 serving size pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 16 oz pkg frozen pound cake thawed
  • 13 c almond flavored liqueur or 13 c pineapple juice and 12 tsp almond extract
  • Dole sliced pineapple optional garnish
  • 14 c sliced almonds toasted optional garnish

Directions

  1. Combine undrained pineapple whipped topping and pudding mix let stand 5 minutes
  2. Cut cake lengthwise in thirds
  3. Drizzle with liqueur
  4. Spread one-third pudding mixture over bottom layer of cake
  5. Top with second layer
  6. Repeat layering ending with pudding
  7. Chill 30 minutes
  8. Sprinkle with toasted sliced almonds garnish with pineapple slices if desired
  9. Serves 12
