DorothyS New England Apple-Raisin Bread
Ingredients
- 1 12 C whole wheat flour
- 1 C sugar
- 2 Tbsp cocoa
- 1 tsp soda
- 12 tsp each salt cinnamon nutmeg and allspice
- 12 C buttermilk
- 6 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 C raisins OR 12 C snipped dried prunes
- 12 C walnuts
- 1 C applesauce
Directions
- Blend flour sugar cocoa soda salt and spices in a large bowl
- Stir together buttermilk applesauce and butter
- Combine above stirring until just moistened
- Fold in raisins and nuts and turn into greased and floured 6 12 C ring mold
