Double Cheese Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 c self-rising flour
- 12 tsp dry mustard
- 18 tsp ground red pepper
- 2 Tbsp margarine or butter
- 34 c shredded Swiss cheese
- 34 c buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 Tbsp water
- grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Heat oven to 450
- Lightly grease cookie sheet
- Mix flour mustard and red pepper
- Cut in margarine with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs
- Stir in Swiss cheese buttermilk and egg until dough forms
- Turn dough onto well-floured board coat with flour
- Knead lightly 10 times Roll or pat dough 12-inch thick cut with floured 2 12-inch biscuit cutter
- Place on cookie sheet
- Mix egg yolk and water brush over biscuits
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden
- Serve warm
- Makes 10 biscuits
