Double Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 c self-rising flour
  • 12 tsp dry mustard
  • 18 tsp ground red pepper
  • 2 Tbsp margarine or butter
  • 34 c shredded Swiss cheese
  • 34 c buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 450
  2. Lightly grease cookie sheet
  3. Mix flour mustard and red pepper
  4. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs
  5. Stir in Swiss cheese buttermilk and egg until dough forms
  6. Turn dough onto well-floured board coat with flour
  7. Knead lightly 10 times Roll or pat dough 12-inch thick cut with floured 2 12-inch biscuit cutter
  8. Place on cookie sheet
  9. Mix egg yolk and water brush over biscuits
  10. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
  11. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden
  12. Serve warm
