Down Home Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 2 23 c sugar
- 3 12 c sifted all-purpose flour
- 8 eggs
- 8 Tbsp coffee cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
- Separate
- eggs
- Whip
- whites
- add 6 level tablespoons of sugar
- and refrigerate until rest of cake is mixed
- Cream butter and remaining sugar beating until very light this is important Add
- egg
- yolks
- 2 at a time beating well after each addition Add flour and cream alternately beating until mixture
- is light Add vanilla
- Fold in egg whites
- Bake in greased
- and
- floured tube pan at 300 for about 1 hour and 25 minutes or until done
