Dry Mustard Pickles
Ingredients
- 1 gal vinegar
- 1 c sugar
- 1 c pickling salt
- 1 c dry mustard
- 1 c horseradish
- 1 piece or spoonful alum
- cucumbers
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in a crock except cucumbers
- Wash cucumbers and add as they are available
- Put plate over cucumbers in crock
- Put large rock on plate to hold cucumbers under mixture until cucumbers lighten up
- They are then ready to eat
