Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pastry shell
  • 23 c sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 8 to 10 apples pared and sliced
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 12 c brown sugar
  • salt

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425
  2. Shake sugar spices flour and apples in a sack Arrange in a pie crust Combine butter brown sugar flour and a pinch of salt to make crumb topping
  3. Sprinkle on apple mixture Bake in a sealed oven roasting bag for 1 hour
