Dutch Red Cabbage

Dutch Red Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 head red cabbage
  • 14 c margarine
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 14 c finely chopped onion
  • 2 apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 13 tsp salt and pepper
  • 14 c grape jelly

Directions

  1. Saute the cabbage in the margarine 5 minutes
  2. Add brown sugar onion and apples
  3. Cook another 5 minutes
  4. Add remaining ingredients cover and simmer slowly for about 20 minutes
