Easy French Bread
Ingredients
- 2 packs yeast
- 3 Tbsp sugar
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 12 c hot tap water
- 7 12 to 8 c flour
Directions
- Sift flour sugar salt and yeast in large mixing bowl
- Add hot tap water and oil at one time
- Stir until dough leaves sides of bowl
- Turn out on floured surface and knead 10 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Put in greased bowl
- Turn cover and let rise until doubled
- Turn out
- Divide in half
- Roll each half to 12 x 15-inch
- Roll tightly from long side
- Place on greased cookie sheet
- Slash top 3 to 4 times diagonally
- Let rise
