Egg Custard Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts make or buy
  • 4 eggs slightly beaten separate whites and yolks
  • 34 c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 3 c milk scalded heat and skim off
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch

Directions

  1. Prepare pie crust in pie pan
  2. Brush with slightly beaten egg whites
  3. Combine eggs sugar salt and cornstarch
  4. Add milk and vanilla mix well
  5. Pour into 2 pie crusts placed on cookie sheets for support
  6. Sprinkle nutmeg on top
  7. Bake in oven on 400 for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean
  8. Cool serve
