Egg Dumplings

Ingredients
- 1 c self-rising flour
- 1 Tbsp shortening or butter
- 1 egg
Directions
- Sift and measure the flour
- Cut the butter into the flour Break the egg into a measuring cup then add enough water to come up to the 34 cup line
- Add to the flour mix lightly with a fork Drop by tablespoonfuls over boiling meat and broth or into well-greased steamer placed over boiling water
- Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until dumplings are tender
