Egg Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 c self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp shortening or butter
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. Sift and measure the flour
  2. Cut the butter into the flour Break the egg into a measuring cup then add enough water to come up to the 34 cup line
  3. Add to the flour mix lightly with a fork Drop by tablespoonfuls over boiling meat and broth or into well-greased steamer placed over boiling water
  4. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until dumplings are tender
