Eggs And Sausage Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage of choice
  • 6 or 8 eggs depending on amount of servings needed 1 egg per person works out well
  • 34 c milk
  • 1 c grated Cheddar cheese medium or sharp
  • salt to taste
  • pepper optional

Directions

  1. Coat a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or baking dish with margarine bacon drippings etc
  2. Tear loaf bread into small pieces and cover bottom of pan
  3. Set aside
  4. Saute sausage and drain
  5. You might like to save drippings and make cream gravy
  6. Beat eggs well add milk cheese salt and pepper
  7. Dip over bread in pan as evenly as possible
  8. Bake in 350 or 400 oven until firm about 30 minutes
  9. This can be fixed the night before and left in refrigerator
  10. It will take longer to bake
  11. Serve with biscuits and gravy with apple jelly
  12. Sprinkle sausage over crumbs then eggs
