ElizaS Fried Apple Pies
Ingredients
- 2 12 c flour
- 3 12 tsp baking powder
- 1 14 tsp salt
- 14 c heaped shortening
- 12 c powdered milk
- 12 c plus 2 Tbsp water finish filling cup with water to equal 1 c
Directions
- In a medium bowl mix all ingredients as for biscuits
- Turn out on a floured surface mixing in additional flour to rolling consistency
- Pinch off enough dough about walnut size roll dough very thin
- Spread half the surface with 2 tablespoons dried apple filling fold over and seal edges by pressing with fork
- Fry in small amount of solid shortening until golden brown on both sides
