English Muffin Bread
Ingredients
- 5 12 to 6 c flour measure by spooning flour lightly into cup
- 2 pkg active dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 14 tsp baking soda
- 2 c milk
- 12 c water
- Cornmeal
Directions
- Combine 3 cups flour yeast sugar salt and baking soda
- Heat liquids until very warm 120-130 degrees F
- Add to dry mixture beat well
- Stir in enough flour to make a stiff batter
- Spoon into 2 8 12 x 4 12 pans that have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal
- Sprinkle tops with cornmeal
- Cover and let rise in warm place for 45 minutes
- Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes Remove from pans immediately and cool on racks
