Ingredients

  • 3 to 3 14 c flour
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 14 c warm water
  • 2 Tbsp soft shortening
  • cornmeal

Directions

  1. In large

  3. combine
  4. 1 14 cups flour salt sugar and yeast mix well
  5. Add the warm water and shortening
  6. Beat 3 minutes
  7. at
  8. medium
  9. speed on mixer
  10. By hand gradually add remaining flour
  11. to make a firm dough
  12. Knead on floured board until smooth
  13. and
  14. elastic about 5 minutes
  15. Place in greased bowl
  16. cover
  17. and let rise until double
  18. Punch down dough and roll out
  19. on
  20. lightly sprinkled cornmeal board
  21. Cut into 3 or 4-inch
  22. circles
  23. Cover
  24. let
  25. rise
  26. until
  27. dough
  28. about30 minutes
  29. Bake
  30. on lightly oiled griddle or frypan at 325 for about 8 minutes on each side until golden brown
