English Scones
Ingredients
- 8 oz flour
- 2 oz butter or margarine
- 1 oz sugar
- 2 oz sultanas raisins
- 3 tsp baking powder
- a little milk
Directions
- Rub the butter and flour until they resemble fine bread crumbs Stir in the baking powder sugar and sultanas
- Add the milk to make a sticky dough and turn onto a floured surface
- Knead gently then roll flat about 1-inch thick and cut out circles
- Place on floured baking tray
- Brush with milk
- Bake at 220C for 10 to 20 minutes
- Spread with butter and jam to taste
