Famous Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
- 34 c vegetable shortening
- 1 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 12 c granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 14 c water
- 1 c all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 12 tsp soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 c oats uncooked
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Beat together shortening sugars egg water and vanilla until creamy
- Add combined remaining ingredients mix well
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet
- Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes
