Fat-Free Fudge Brownies(Yield: 16 Servings)

Ingredients
- 3/4 c. unbleached flour
- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 3 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
- Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar and salt, if desired, and stir to mix well.
- Stir in the applesauce, egg whites and vanilla extract.
- Fold in the nuts, if desired.
- Coat an 8-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Spread the batter evenly in the pan and bake at 325° for 23 minutes or just until the edges are firm and the center is almost set.
- Cool to room temperature and cut into square and serve.
