Favorite Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 1 3/4 c. flour
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. red food coloring
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. soda
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 7 Tbsp. cocoa
• 1/2 c. shortening
• 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

1. Sift all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Stir.
3. Add the rest and beat with electric mixer for 2 minutes.
4. Pour into greased and floured pans (2).
5. I use small tube pan.
6. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
7. Tube pan takes 40 minutes.
