Favorite Holiday Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c shortening
• 2 c sugar
• 5 eggs
• 1 c plain flour
• 1 c self-rising flour
• 1 c milk
• 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

1. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy
2. Add eggs one at a time beat after each addition
3. Add flour and milk alternately ending with flour
4. Add vanilla mix well
5. Bake in 2 9-inch pans that have been greased and floured at 350 for 30 minutes
6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes
7. Cool completely split layers
8. Make the filling
