Favorite Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 12 c sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 c cake flour sift before measuring
- 1 c sour cream
- 18 tsp baking soda
- 1 12 Tbsp almond extract
- 12 tsp salt
- powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325
- Grease and flour tube pan
- Cream butter and sugar thoroughly
- Add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each
- Add flour alternately with 34 cup sour cream
- Dissolve baking soda in 14 cup sour cream add to batter and blend well
- Add extract and salt
- Stir
- Bake in pan for 1 hour and 5 minutes
- Cool 20 minutes in pan
- Remove and sift powdered sugar over warm cake
- Serves 10 to 12
