Feather Bed Rolls
Ingredients
- 12 c shortening
- 2 pkg dry yeast
- 12 c sugar
- 2 eggs well beaten
- 2 c milk scalded and cooled
- 12 c warm water
- 2 tsp salt
- 5 c flour or enough to make a moderately stiff dough
Directions
- Melt shortening into milk while milk is hot
- Dissolve yeast into water and add to cooled milk
- Add sugar salt and eggs mix well
- Add flour one cup at a time and knead until dough is stiff and elastic
- Let stand 20 minutes
- Roll out and cut into desired shape
- Cover and let rise until double in size
- Bake at 400 until golden brown
