Fig Preserve Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c sugar
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 12 tsp ground allspice
  • 12 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 c vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 c fig preserves
  • 12 c chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

  1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large mixing bowl
  2. Add oil and eggs beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer
  3. Add buttermilk and vanilla beating well
  4. Stir in preserves and pecans
