Fig Preserve Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 c flour
  • 2 12 c sugar
  • 34 c salad oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c fig preserves
  • 1 c chopped pecans
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  1. Cream sugar eggs and salad oil until well blended
  2. Sift together flour and spices
  3. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add flour mixture and buttermilk to the egg mixture
  4. Add fig preserves and pecans
  5. Bake in a greased tube pan at 350 for about 1 hour or until done
  6. This makes a large cake that will keep in the refrigerator indefinitely
  7. It can also be frozen
