Filled Drop Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 c shortening
• 2 c brown sugar firmly packed
• 2 eggs
• 12 c warm water
• 1 12 tsp soda
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp salt
• 4 c sifted all purpose flour

Directions

1. Combine shortening and sugar
2. Add eggs and beat well Dissolve soda in warm water and add to creamed mixture
3. Add vanilla
4. Stir in flour and salt
5. Drop by dessert spoon on greased cookie sheet
6. Make a dent in the center of cookie and put in one teaspoon of filling Top with small amount of dough
7. Bake at 400 about 10 minutes
