Fish Chowder

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes sliced
  • 3 medium onions sliced
  • 2 16 oz pkg frozen flounder fillets thawed and cut into large chunks
  • 1 c chopped celery
  • 4 cloves whole
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 14 tsp dill seed
  • 2 c half and half
  • 14 c butter or margarine
  • parsley garnish
  • water

Directions

  1. In covered 5-quart Dutch oven over medium heat simmer potatoes onions celery cloves garlic salt bay leaf dill seed and 1 cup water for about 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender
  2. Discard cloves
  3. Add fish 1 cup water and remaining ingredients
  4. Heat to boiling reduce heat to low
  5. Cover simmer 5 to 10 minutes until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork Garnish with parsley
