Fork-Tender Swiss Steak

Ingredients
- 3 lb round steak cut 1-inch thick
- salt and pepper
- 1 c flour
- 12 c shortening
- 2 onions sliced
- 2 c cooked tomatoes
Directions
- Season the steak and place it on a well floured cutting board Cover thesteak
- with
- flour and pound it with a meat hammer Continue
- to turn flour and pound the meat until all the flour is taken
- up by the steak
