Freeze It And Forget It Fruit Salad

Ingredients

  • 34 c syrup drained from fruit
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 14 c sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 12 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 c drained diced pears
  • 34 c drained pineapple tidbits
  • 3 mashed medium ripe bananas
  • 12 c chopped maraschino cherries
  • 23 c small can undiluted Carnation evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Directions

  1. Combine syrup egg sugar salt flour and vinegar in saucepan
  2. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened
  3. Cool
  4. Add fruit to cooked mixture
  5. Chill Carnation in refrigerator tray until soft ice crystals form around edges of tray 10 to 15 minutes
  6. Add lemon juice whip very stiff 1 minute
  7. Fold into fruit mixture
  8. Spoon into 6 cup mold
  9. Freeze until firm about 5 to 6 hours
