Freezer Sweet Dill Pickles
Ingredients
- 1 lb 3-inch long unwaxed cucumbers cut into 18 inch slices equals 4 c sliced
- 34 lb onion cut into 18 inch slices
- 4 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp water
- 34 to 1 c sugar
- 12 c cider vinegar
- 1 tsp dried dill or more to taste
Directions
- In a large bowl layer cucumbers and onion
- Sprinkle with salt and water and toss gently
- Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours Drain very well
- In small saucepan combine sugar vinegar and dried dill
- Heat gently do not boil until sugar is melted stirring constantly
- Remove from heat and allow to cool
- Pack drained vegetables in freezer containers and pour liquid over to cover
- Freeze will be ready to eat as soon as they are defrosted
