French Bread

Ingredients
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 12 c warm water
- 1 12 tsp salt
- 4 to 4 12 c all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp cornmeal
Directions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water in large mixing bowl Let stand until bubbly 8 to 10 minutes
- Stir in salt and enough of the flour to make a stiff dough
- Turn dough onto lightly floured surface knead in additional flour until dough is smooth and elastic about 10 minutes
