French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 12 c all-purpose flour
  • 12 c sugar
  • 1 12 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 18 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 12 c milk
  • 13 c butter or margarine melted
  • 14 c sugar
  • 12 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 14 c butter or margarine melted

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl combine flour 12 cup sugar baking powder nutmeg and salt
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients
  3. In another bowl Beat egg slightly stir in milk and 13 cup melted butter or margarine add egg mixture to flour mixture
  4. Stir just until moistened the batter may be lumpy Lightly grease muffin cups
  5. Fill cups about 23 full with batter Bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes or until muffins are golden Meanwhile in a shallow bowl combine the 14 cup sugar and cinnamon
  6. Immediately dip tops of hot muffins into the 14 cup melted butter or margarine then into the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated
  7. Serve warm
  8. Serves 12
