Fresh Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 12 c thinly sliced fresh peaches
- 14 c water
- 12 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 12 c sugar
- 1 Tbsp shortening
- 1 Tbsp milk
- 12 c flour
- 12 tsp baking powder
- 14 tsp salt
Directions
- In saucepan combine peaches water and 12 cup sugar
- Bring to boil and stir
- Keep hot
- With spoon beat egg 12 cup sugar and shortening until fluffy
- Add milk stir in flour baking powder and salt
- Spread batter in a greased 8-inch square pan then pour hot peaches over the batter
- Bake at 375 for 25 to 30 minutes or until tender
- Serve warm with cream if desired Serves 4 to 6
