Fried Green Plantains

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 green plantains
  • enough oil to fry

Directions

  1. Peel plantains and cut diagonally to 1-inch thick pieces Heat oil to about 350 medium to high heat
  2. Fry them for about 7 to 8 minutes turning them occasionally
  3. Remove them and squash them flat
  4. Fry them again for another 3 or 4 minutes until they brown
  5. Remove onto a plate with an absorbent paper towel
  6. Serve with a little salt on top optional
  7. Serve with rice and chicken
