Frozen Chocolate Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 13 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1 10 12 oz pkg miniature marshmallows
  • 1 6 oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 12 c butter or margarine
  • 1 3 12 oz can flaked coconut
  • 2 c graham cracker crumbs
  • 12 gal vanilla ice cream
  • 1 c chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in top of double boiler bring water to a boil
  2. Reduce heat to low cook until chocolate and marshmallows are melted
  3. Remove and set aside to cool
  4. Combine butter and coconut in a saucepan over medium heat
  5. Cook stirring often until coconut is lightly browned
  6. Remove from heat and stir in graham cracker crumbs
  7. Press 34 of crumb mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan
  8. Cut ice cream crosswise into 12-inch thick slices
  9. Arrange half of slices over crust Pour 12 of chocolate mixture over ice cream then repeat layers
  10. Combine remaining mixture and pecans over top
  11. Cover and freeze until firm
  12. Yields 15 servings
