Georgia Peach Cake

Ingredients

  • 12 c butter
  • 12 c sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon rind
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 c peach slices
  • 13 c sugar
  • 12 tsp cinnamon
  • 14 c chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Cream butter and 12 cup sugar
  2. Add lemon rind beat
  3. Add eggs
  4. Mix next 3 dry ingredients and add to batter a little at a time
  5. Pour half of batter into greased 9 x 9-inch square pan Place drained peach slices over batter
  6. Add remaining batter to cover peaches
  7. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over peaches
  8. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes
  9. Cut in squares and serve with whipped cream
