German Chocolate Cheesecake

Ingredients

  • 1 14 c chocolate wafers or cracker crumbs 18
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp margarine melted
  • 2 8 oz 1 3 oz pkg cream cheese
  • 1 c sugar
  • 14 c cocoa
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Directions

  1. Press evenly into ungreased pan first 3 ingredients
  2. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
  3. Beat cream cheese in 3-quart bowl
  4. Add sugar and cocoa gradually
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time
  6. Pour in vanilla
  7. Pour into spring-form pan
  8. Bake at 300 until center is firm about 1 hour
  9. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours
  10. Prepare topping
  11. Spread over cake loosen sides and remove
