German Chocolate Pie
Ingredients
- 1 4 oz pkg Bakers Germans sweet chocolate
- 14 c butter
- 1 23 c 14 12 oz can evaporated milk
- 1 12 c sugar
- 3 Tbsp cornstarch
- 12 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 unbaked 10-inch pie or 2 unbaked 8-inch pie shells
- 1 13 c Bakers Angel Flake coconut
- 12 c chopped pecans
Directions
- Melt chocolate with butter over low heat stirring until blended
- Remove from heat gradually blend in milk
- Mix sugar cornstarch and salt
- Beat in eggs and vanilla
- Gradually blend in chocolate mixture
- Pour into pie shell
- Combine coconut and nuts sprinkle over filling
- Bake at 375 for 45 minutes Filling will be soft but will set while cooling
- Cool at least 4 hours before cutting
