German Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

• 1 slice salt bacon
• 1 ham hock
• 1 large onion diced
• 3 medium potatoes peeled and diced
• 1 pkg dried split peas washed and drained
• 12 c water
• 12 tsp thyme
• 1 pkg Lipton golden onion soup mix
• 1 pkg knockwurst hot dogs chopped
• 1 lb kielbasa sausage sliced 18-inch

Directions

1. Dice salt bacon and saute with onion
2. Pour all ingredients into a Dutch oven and cook for 6 hours
3. Serves 10
