Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
- 34 c shortening
- 1 c white sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 4 Tbsp dark molasses
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp soda
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 12 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp salt
Directions
- Cream shortening and sugar add egg and molasses
- Sift remaining ingredients into egg mixture
- Make balls walnut-size Dip tops in sugar
- Place apart on greased cookie sheet
- Do not press balls down
- Bake at 350
- Cookies will crack open on top It is well to chill dough for 1 hour
