Ginger Pickles

Ingredients
- 5 lb cucumbers
- 12 c alum
- 12 c ginger
- 2 pt vinegar
- 2 pt water
- 5 lb sugar
- 12 pkg pickle spices
- 6 drops green food coloring
Directions
- Peel and cut cucumbers in small strips
- Soak 24 hours 2 gallons water and 3 cups lime
- Rinse well
- Soak 2 hours in alum and water to cover them
- Wash 3 times
- Soak 6 hours in ginger and water to cover
- Rinse well
- Drain
