Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

  • 1 c vegetable shortening
  • 4 to 5 cups plain flour
  • 2 tsp cloves
  • 2 c sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tsp soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 12 c dark corn syrup
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp baking powder

Directions

  1. Cream sugar and shortening add egg and then the remaining ingredients When mixed roll into small balls the size of a marble about 1 teaspoonful in palm of hand Dip in mixture of sugar and cinnamon additional to that in recipe Bake at 350 about 15 minutes leaving space on cooking sheet for them to spread Do not mash the round balls down on cookie sheet
