Gingersnap Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 c sugar
- 34 c shortening
- 14 c molasses
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 c flour
- 2 14 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 14 tsp salt
Directions
- In large bowl beat together sugar and shortening add molasses
- Mix well
- Add beaten egg
- Stir together all remaining ingredients
- Mix into molasses mixture until thoroughly combined Cover and chill at least 1 hour or overnight
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls then place balls into granulated
- sugar
- Place balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes
