Gladys StarrS Orange Slice Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c butter
• 2 c sugar
• 4 eggs
• 3 12 c flour
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 lb candy orange slices chopped
• 2 c nuts chopped
• 1 lb dates chopped
• 1 7 oz can coconut
• 12 c buttermilk

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar
2. Add eggs one at a time
3. Beat after each addition
4. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to creamed mixture alternately with flour
5. Flour nuts dates and orange slices fold into creamed mixture along with coconut
6. This makes a stiff dough
7. Mix by hand
