Glazed Onions

Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 large onions
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • salt and black pepper
  • paprika
  • red chile sliced for garnish

Directions

  1. Peel onions cut into even slices
  2. Heat butter in large skillet
  3. Add onions and toss for a few minutes until coated with butter
  4. Do not brown
  5. Add vinegar brown sugar and curry powder Stir to blend
  6. Add parsley
  7. Cook onions for about 5 minutes covered until almost tender-crisp
  8. Remove cover and cook onions for 2 to 3 minutes until glazed
  9. Season with salt black pepper and paprika
  10. Add chili
