Golden Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 c sifted all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 c corn meal yellow
- 1 c milk
- 14 c sugar
- 34 tsp salt
- 2 eggs
- 14 c soft shortening
Directions
- Sift together in bowl the flour sugar baking powder and salt
- Stir in corn meal
- In a small bowl
- beat eggs milk and shortening
- Add all at once to corn meal mixture
- Stir with fork until flour is just moistened
- Even if batter is lumpy do not stir anymore
- Pour into well-greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan
- Bake in a 425 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until done
