Golden Medley Orange Candied Yams
Ingredients
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 12 c toasted blanched almonds
- 23 c firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 c orange juice
- 3 1 lb cans yams drained
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 orange peeled and sectioned
Directions
- In saucepan melt butter or margarine
- Add almonds brown sugar and orange juice simmer stirring occasionally for 5 minutes
- Add yams sprinkle with salt
- Simmer 10 to 15 minutes spooning sauce over frequently
- Garnish with orange sections Makes about 8 to 10 servings
