Grandma FayS Cake Donuts1898-1974
Ingredients
- 1 c sugar
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 c buttermilk
- 12 tsp baking soda
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 c sifted flour
- dash of nutmeg
Directions
- Mix first four ingredients
- Sift flour and add baking soda and baking powder
- Mix into other ingredients and add vanilla and nutmeg
- Refrigerate dough overnight
