Grandma HansenS Icebox Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 12 c shortening
- 2 c brown sugar
- 12 c chopped nuts
- 2 eggs
- 3 c flour
- 12 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 12 tsp soda
- 1 tsp vanilla or lemon extract
Directions
- Combine ingredients as for cake
- Make as stiff as bread dough Set in cool place
- Next morning roll like a sausage about size of half dollar
- Cut about 14 inch thick
- Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes
