GrandmaS Fruit Cake

Ingredients
- 1 lb butter
- 9 eggs separated
- 34 tsp cloves ground
- 34 tsp mace
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 lb currants
- 1 lb nuts pecans
- 12 lb candied orange peel
- 12 lb candied cherries
- 1 lb candied pineapple
- 12 tsp
- 1 lb light brown sugar
- 1 lb flour all-purpose
- 34 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 14 c milk
- 1 lb seedless raisins
- 12 lb citron
Directions
- Wash raisins and currants chop nuts and fruits
- Dredge fruit in half the flour
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add beaten egg yolks Sift remaining flour with other dry ingredients
- Add milk and dry ingredients alternately to cake batter
- Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites
- Add nuts and fruits mix thoroughly
- Bake approximately 4 hours at 275
