GrandmaS Gingersnaps
Ingredients
- 34 c shortening
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg
- 14 c molasses
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 12 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 12 tsp salt
- additional sugar
Directions
- In large mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar
- Beat in egg and molasses
- Combine flour soda spices and salt
- Gradually add to creamed mixture
- Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into balls
- Dip one side of each ball in sugar place with sugar side up on greased baking sheet
- Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly brown and crinkly
- Makes 3 to 4 dozen
