GrandmaS Sour Cream Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 12 c butter or margarine
- 14 c vegetable shortening
- 2 c light brown sugar
- 3 1 oz sq unsweetened chocolate melted
- 1 c sour cream
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 12 tspsoda
- 3 eggs
- 2 12 c flour sifted
- 1 tsp salt
- 23 c water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Grease and flour 2 9-inch cake pans Cream butter or margarine shortening brown sugar and vanilla Add eggs cream until very light and fluffy
- Blend in melted chocolate and sour cream
- Beat 1 minute at medium speed to mix well about 150 strokes by hand
- Blend in sifted dry ingredients and water
- Beat 3 minutes 450 strokes by hand
- Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350
- Cool in pans 10 minutes
- Ice with creamy vanilla frosting
